Music that moves us
We open our meetings with a warm up - it offers a moment of focus and connection and adds to the community building of our team. Inspired by the annual #SpotifyWrapped campaign, we started a recent team huddle with our top songs for 2021.
There are a few Apple Music fans on the team, who had to do a bit of sleuthing to discover their top tracks, and the balance of the crew pulled from the summary served up by Spotify.
Music has the power to connect us, sometimes divide us, but it always gives us insight into our story, our mindset and as we discovered sharing our top jams for the year, music can be a mark of age and experience too.
As we shared the stories behind our top tracks, we learned about teammates who used music to drive their motivation and their focus, while others used music to wind down at the end of busy days. Some shared top tracks from shared compilations and we all discovered new artists and tunes.
We reflected on those beats that push us in the gym, but leave us conflicted because the lyrics don’t align with our world view.
Whether it's the rhythm or the words, listen in and tell us, how does music move you?
